Hope you all had a good weekend!
It was a busy and eventful one for me. Got in a little relaxing too.. which is always good!
Friday was kind of cold so I pulled out THE NORTH FACE. Haha. Seriously Danielle…??? It’s L.A. and 70 degrees out! I KNOW I know…but it seriously felt like 50 degrees and I was cold!
She is hard to get pictures of…At least I got one!
Friday night I stayed after teaching my 5:15pm yoga class to take the 6:15 yoga booty ballet class. Needed to get in my cardio!!!
Especially because we were planning a little date night in the hood. We walked to Ago, a nice Italian restaurant near us and then walked to Sweet Lady Jane for dessert.
WE WALKED…SO THIS WAS COMPLETELY OKAY AND ALLOWED. ;)
Yum - Pretty good for Oreo Cheesecake. But then again, how could you go wrong with OREO CHEESECAKE?!
Saturday we woke up to head over to Prevail Fitness Boxing.
Prevail is a fitness boxing gym in Los Angeles, right off of Third Street that provides fun, high-energy group boxing classes.
Since I box with boxing trainer, Gabe Johns, almost every week, when I heard about Prevail and they invited me to try a class, I was in!
I love boxing! I started just about over a year ago. It is so different than any other workout I’ve ever done. It lets you (especially us women) let out a little aggression and be in touch with a different side we’re used to.
Yoga and dance is so feminine and can be graceful, gentle and so much about breath, etc. BOXING is all about strength and “kicking butt”. Haha, that is my definition.
The class was really challenging! I brought Tyler to join because he boxes and thought he would like it. We sweat our butts off!
We started with a warm up, which was quite hard. And then took turns in different circuits - and did a whole bunch of leg work, bag work and then abs at the very end.

After we came home to shower and headed to run some errands.
I was hungry and craving some of my favorite tacos… Planchas! They have the best shrimp tacos!
After we came home for a little nap and then headed to watch the sunset with our friends Kelsey and Dillon.
Oh, Tyler. So dreamy… haha.
It was such a pretty sunset. Perfect start to our evening.
We then went to try a new restaurant in Santa Monica.
…And I tried Pineapple Beer. Not sure how I feel about Pineapple Beer/Cider, but it was okay.
I got a Corn Greek Salad with a side of sweet potato gratin. I couldn’t resist the gratin…My favorite Thanksgiving dish (T-35 days). Yes, I’m counting down until THANKSGIVING!!!
And after, ICE CREAM. Of course.
But hear me out, it wasn’t Sweet Rose Creamery. We ventured out and went to Beachy Cream instead. They had some pretty crazy flavors anddd Pretzel cones!
It was goood.
Sunday morning we woke up to head to our favorite Sunday morning activity: The Farmer’s Market.
But first, coffee. I don’t drink coffee but Ty does. Got him his coffee from Alfred Coffee.
Dogs came along of course… Water break!
Got some of those pretty pink flowers for the house…
And met up with one of my best friends, Meredith.
Love that we all live in the hood so we can just walk over and do this together.
Ty likes “his spot”. He sits here with his coffee and the dogs while we get what we need for the week.

After the farmer’s market I went to teach my 1:30 yoga class. I came home to relax, make some dinner and MAKE MY ZUCCHINI BROWNIES!

I did! This weekend I am planning to take it easy…
I love weekends where I don’t really have plans and I can just decide what I want to do that day. Very spontaneous of me! Which can’t always be the case when we are working!
Since, it’s Friday, we can start off with a positive thought. That thought being: …IT’S FRIDAY! :)
I think it’s important to take you time. Slowww down a bit. Drive just to drive, roll down the windows, feel the breeze blowing across your face and in your hair.
I just figured out one thing I’ll do this weekend. :) Can’t wait.

This week concluded our 20 day Meditation Challenge.
I did it! I meditated every single day for 20 days straight and guess what, I’m going to do my best to continue so. Seriously, it has changed me. I am not just saying that because I started the idea to do one. I will say it wasn’t easy to always find the time and the place. There were days where I’d get in bed and be like yikes, I totally forgot to meditate today. SO I would set the timer for 5-8 minutes before bed and just sit there in silence. I feel lighter, I feel happier and more clear.
Life is going to be stressful, there are going to be things we can’t control, but what we do need to remember is that we can control our bodies and our minds. We can find peace and learn to react to things more gracefully. We can choose happiness.
I guess what I learned is that meditation makes me a happier person. It brings me to the present moment and usually lets me let go of whatever I’m holding on to, making me more positive about things and more grateful for what IS in my life.
You can meditate in your back yard, in the middle of your bedroom or your office floor. It doesn’t matter - just as long as you try to find a quiet space.
My yogis at the end of every class practice 5 minutes of meditation aka Savasana.
Try it. Try to make it a part of your daily routine… Brush your teeth, brush your hair, eat breakfast…MEDITATE.
I promise you will see results!

I have posted about these before here on The Beauty Blender, but I wanted to post about it again because I have been craving them like crazy recently!
They are just so good and so easy to make. There is NO way you can feel guilty when eating these.
Here’s the deal.
1 EGG + 1 BANANA
Yes, that is it!!! Don’t believe me? Give it a try yourself!
What to do:
Mix together one banana and one egg in a bowl. Put on a flat pan on medium heat on the stovetop. Make small round pancake shapes. Flip when start to see the mixture bubbling on top and bottom is slightly brown. Takes about 5 minutes total!
…Feel free to throw on some fruit or powdered sugar if you would like! I sometimes use Vanilla Extract and Cinnamon in the mixture to add a little more flavor and gives it this fluffy/moist texture that makes me want to make it again and again!

Who doesn’t LOVE the weekend? I seriously wish every day was Saturday!
Friday started out pretty smoothly. I woke up majorly craving my 2-Ingredient Pancakes (which will be up on the blog tomorrow!).
Yes, 1 egg & 1 banana.
Toby was eyeing them….Toby’s favorite thing beside Bea and his bones…is FOOD.
He definitely is my dog!
I got some work done in the morning and then headed to the airport to pick up this man.
Tyler had been gone for about over a week back and forth for business so I was happy he was finally home for good.
The rest of Friday I worked and took a Yoga Booty Ballet class to get some cardio. I picked up some food and we stayed in all of Friday night.
Saturday we were planning to go to the Veuve Cliqcuot Polo Game but unfortunately the line was soo long and we had to be somewhere later so decided we wouldn’t make it back in time.
Instead, we headed to one of my favorite Taco places in LA.

Started out with a raspberry mojito….It was delicious.
Our friends Meredith and Steve joined us.
The fish tacos come like this with a side of tortilla. You make them yourself and they are so good.

After we had lunch we headed to The Bungalow in Santa Monica.
It was so nice out and we found a little place to sit in the shade.
The boys found the Ping Pong table. That lasted 5 minutes.
We got home and got dressed and ready to head to one of my friend from highschool’s engagement party in Malibu!

So fancy… :)
The drive to the house was beautiful and well timed just around sunset.
They had belly dancers, a sushi bar, kabobs…It was really fun.
Tyler seemed to be a little shocked by the belly dancers? Not sure what that face is! Haha.
After the party we had to get home to the dogs but we HAD to stop at Sweet Rose Creamery.
They had a new flavor!

It was really good. Maybe one of the best I’ve had.
Sunday morning came way too fast. I didn’t have any morning clients before my 1:30pm group class so we took it easy and relaxed around the house.
I was craving my 2-Ingredient pancakes AGAIN.
Oh yeah…and we also finally got a KITCHEN AID! We had been wanting one for a long time and they had a great deal so we couldn’t resist.
I went to teach my class and after went food shopping for the week.
I had been wanting to try this Zucchini Brownie Recipe that my friend sent me so I did! Seriously, guys. This recipe is life changing.
The recipe will be on the blog this week! You won’t want to miss it!
After we sat on the couch, ready to couch potato out.
Toby, the potato master. He was OUT. I love how he found his little pillow and made it his thrown.
We watched CHEF. I really liked it. It’s now on On Demand so I definitely recommend watching for a light, fun, will make you hungry kind of movie!

Yup, the baby has been born and I am just happy the name is Esmeralda Amada. Amada is pretty. Esmeralda though…Lets just say it’s a name!

Since this is a health & beauty blog, I like to share some cool “healthy” events and opportunities with you guys.
I love working out in groups. There is something special about one-on-one sessions; however, there is also something equally great about having a workout community.
I love teaching and attending group classes.
I was recently invited to a new workout program/group class. Working out in group settings is not always easy, but it’s much easier to commit with a group versus doing your workout from home.

My week is busy…but still finding time to meditate (of course!). Even if it’s just for 5-10 minutes a day! I feel that is has been making a huge difference in my overall happiness and keeping me calm even when life and work are busy!
It’s easy to find new music, turn on the radio and you will hear the newest Maroon 5 or Pitbull song, but it can be pretty difficult to find calming music for meditation. I love meditating with music, it allows me to relax even more than I would if I were in silence. I am always searching for my classes so I wanted to share some of my favorite songs to get you feeling extra calm and relaxed. These are the ones that do the trick for me!
